Bespoke interiors & joinery with Space Cucina.

Fitted furniture is where a refurbishment becomes a home. Our award-winning Earl's Court project hides a full kitchen and pantry behind a wall of matching joinery; our Chelsea development paired six kitchens with six sets of bespoke wardrobes; our Regent's Park bedroom has a full-height upholstered headboard wall.

We design cabinetry to the millimetre for each room, have it made to measure, and fit it with our own carpenters alongside the decoration so the finish is seamless.

Common questions

Bespoke interiors & joinery: what people ask us.

Is bespoke fitted furniture worth it over flat-pack?

For awkward spaces it usually is. Fitted wardrobes, alcove units and media walls use every centimetre, run floor to ceiling and wall to wall, and are finished to match the room, which off-the-shelf furniture cannot do. The cost depends on the size of the piece, the material and the internal fittings, and we quote each piece from a drawing.

What materials and finishes do you use?

Painted MDF or tulipwood for classic panelled wardrobes and alcove units; real wood veneers for a warmer, contemporary look; and the same lacquers and laminates used in our kitchens where you want joinery and kitchen to match. Handles, hinges, drawer runners and lighting are specified with the design so the piece works as well as it looks.

How long does bespoke joinery take?

Allow six to eight weeks from the approved drawings for manufacture, then a few days on site for installation and finishing. When the joinery is part of a larger refurbishment we design it early and fit it after decorating, so the finish is not damaged by other trades.

Can joinery be designed to match an existing kitchen or period features?

Yes. We regularly design media walls and wardrobes to match a kitchen run, and panelled units that pick up the proportions of existing doors, skirtings and cornices in period houses. Matching or deliberately contrasting is a design decision we make with you at the drawing stage.
